Gary North's Top 3 Recommended Economics Books
The Top 3 Economic Books, as recommended by Gary North.
- "Read Murray Rothbard's book, What Has Government Done to Our Money? It's free.
- Next, read Frederic Bastiat's little book, The Law. It's free.
- Finally, you are ready for the masterpiece: Murray Rothbard's Man, Economy, and State. It's free.
There you have it. All this will cost you is paper, toner, and time."
I've read Murry Rothbard's book What Has Government Done to Our Money? But the other two, I've never read.

Thanks for your recommendations. I am interested in learning some basic economics. However, the link to the book on the Law doesn't work.
Thanks/best wishes
Hi Debra. Glad to hear you're interested in learning basic economics—and thanks for telling me about the broken link. Looks like EconLib.org has updated its website since I wrote this post. Here is the correct link to Frederic Bastiat's book (published by the Foundation for Economic Education).
