A True Entrepreneur–Bottled Water Experiment
Just finished reading a post from Neville's Financial Blog about how a 22 year-old college student made money with less than $10 by selling bottled water on the side of the road, and hiring homeless people to work for him. This "business experiment" is one of the best blog posts I've read in a long time. Talk about a true entreprenuer…this guy is it!
If Neville had not hired the homeless individual to work for him, he would be earning roughly $31 an hour selling bottled water on the side of the road. What do I like about this story? I like the fact that Neville took action on his idea, and wasn't concerned with what others thought; he was willing to pursue a business idea, even at the risk of looking dumb/crazy in the eyes of others.
How many people would have the guts to sell water on the side of the road? Not many. For most people, it would be too demeaning. (Their egoes would get in the way of making money.)
